This past week has been a busy one for Drake University – I hope everyone is staying energized and on top of their studies! I would like to touch on a few initiatives this week:
Knapp Center Weight Room:
Conversations are underway about the Knapp Center Weight Room hours for non-student athletes. If you have concerns or ideas on how to make your Drake fitness experience better please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I should have more information in my blog next week about a possible resolution to this issue.
I hope everyone had a great experience at the Activities Fair last Wednesday. We had an incredible turnout and I am very excited for all of our clubs and organizations. If you didn’t see a club or organization you were expecting it is very easy to start your own! If you are interested in starting your own club or organization please contact Senator Breanna Thompson at Breanna.Thompson@drake.edu. All you need to start an organization is 3 members, a faculty adviser, and a constitution.
Student Senate Meetings are now in Cowles Library:
Student Senate will now be holding our weekly meeting in Cowles 201 (the glass “fishbowl”). We have changed locations to be more accessible and transparent to the student body. As always students are always welcome to our meetings, they take place every Thursday at 9 pm.
Don’t forgot about the Bucksbaum Lecture this Thursday (Sept.13) at 7 pm in the Knapp Center, President and Rosalynn Carter will be delivering the presentation – this is a wonderful opportunity for all Drake students and the Des Moines community – I encourage everyone to attend. This is a free event for both Drake students and the community,
If you would like me to address an issue/concern/or idea in this blog feel free to email me. Have a great week!
