Hourly car rentals, residence hall printers in the works

This past finals week, we had an extremely successful “Dog Days of Finals” with 430 students in attendance. Thank you for coming out to this event! I hope to continue this event, and hopefully make it into a Drake Tradition. I do plan on stepping down from hosting this event and allowing another senator to take on the task. If you have any questions or new ideas for the event, feel free to send them to me to pass on to the next senator.

For this coming semester, I have a few projects I am working on. First off, I am reopening talks to bring in hourly rental cars to Drake. These would be available to students 18 years of age and older, would be fully insured and gassed, and would run between $10 to $20 an hour.

My next project I am working on with Sen. Reiter is creating a memory book for Porterhouse’s parents. If you have any pictures of him with yourself or your friends, please send them to me to be included in the book.

Finally, I will finish up the implementation of printers in the residence halls. The approval is almost complete, and when the okay is given, all the dorms, including Ross will have its own printer available 24/7!

If you have any ideas, thoughts, projects or changes you want to see at Drake University, no matter how large, small, or impossible it seems, please send them to me at joshua.schoenblatt@drake.edu
