Additionally, as the community outreach liaison, I hope to "pop" the Drake bubble and encourage more student involvement in the Drake neighborhood and in the city of Des Moines.

I believe the biggest hurdle in improving the college experience for Drake students is funding. One of my goals is making students' and student organizations' voices heard in funding allocation processes so that a better Drake can be enjoyed by all.

I would like to help better define the roles of academic senators as well as increase the visability of the position. I'd like to see increased programming come out of acadmic affairs as well as more integration with faculty and staff in the A&S college.

Our History

The date, November 19, 1986. The motion, 87-5. The vote, 36 ayes and 25 nays. The results, the Drake University Senate approved a proposal which recommended the University Senate divided itself into two separate bodies. The proposal was accepted by the University Board of Trustees and the Drake University Faculty Senate and the Drake University Student Senate became reality.
