Equity and Inclusion Senator
Hi, my name is Deshauna Carter and I’m the Equity and Inclusion Senator. I’m a sophomore double majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology. I was born in Chicago, IL but I currently live in Yokosuka, Japan. At Drake I’m involved in Habitat for Humanity, Coalition of Black Students, Colleges Against Cancer, and The Crew Scholar Program,
I ran for student senate because I want to see Drake become a more diverse and inclusive campus. The multicultural organizations need people who will stand up for them and make sure their concerns and opinions are being taken into account when decisions affecting the student body are being made. Being on student senate will allow me to be the voice of the minority groups on campus, so we can work towards making Drake better.
