Hey friends! My name is Grace Rogers. I’m a senior and I’m studying Public Relations and Political Science. This is my first year on Senate, and I’m excited to make some positive changes on Drake’s campus.
I decided to run for Student Senate after attending the National Youth Feminist Leadership Conference last year. I was able to network with activists from across the country to determine some realistic changes to be made on campus, especially in the realm of sexual assault policy reform.
When I’m not around the table, you can find me in the Meredith Basement, where I serve as the President of the Drake Broadcasting System, or at a meeting for one of the other organizations I am a part of, including Student Activists for Gender Equality, Drake Voice of Choice, Rainbow Union, the Disability Awareness Action Community and the Public Relations Student Society of America.
While I have some goals of my own to achieve this year, including establishing a confidential advocate for survivors of sexual assault on campus and meeting with students to spread more information about Title IX and sexual assault policy at Drake, my main goal is to be a resource for you! If there’s an issue that you want fixed at Drake, feel free to reach out via the Student Services Facebook page, or e-mail me at email@example.com.
If I’m not on campus, you can usually find me eating pizza at Fong’s, cheering on Sporting Kansas City at The Royal Mile, or catching a musical at the Civic Center.
